Snyder County Attorney Honored As "Solicitor of the Year"
State College, Pennsylvania – March 21, 2013 - Long-time Snyder County Attorney Charles J. Ax, Jr. of the law firm of Ax Runkle & Hudock, P.C. was recently honored at the annual meeting of the Pennsylvania Children and Youth Solicitors Association held in State College. Ax was selected by his peers as the recipient of the Brad M. Jackman Award of Excellence for 2013, recognizing him as an outstanding children and youth solicitor in the state.
Ax has served as the solicitor for the Snyder County Children and Youth Services Agency since 1975 making him one of the longest-serving children and youth solicitors in Pennsylvania. During his 38 years as solicitor, Ax has represented the Agency at countless court proceedings involving child abuse, neglect, termination of parental rights and adoption.
Solicitors Association President Chester G. Shultz and Senior Judge of the 17th Judicial District Harold Woelfel presented Ax with an individual award along with a traveling plaque that will be displayed at the Agency until passed on to next year's award recipient. "Charlie's dedication to protecting the vulnerable children of his community is impressive," said Jason Kutulakis, past-president of the Solicitors Association and current member of the Governor's Task Force on Child Abuse.
