Brad M. Jackman - Award of Excellence
As we celebrate 10 years of the PA Children & Youth Solicitors Association, please do not forget the annual award that has been awarded pursuant to the standards of excellence and dedication to children's rights by the Association's first President, Brad Jackman. Nominations for this year's award are due no later than February 14, 2014. The award will be presented at the annual CLE in State College in late March.
PURPOSE: The Pennsylvania Children And Youth Solicitors Association has established this award to recognize the efforts and accomplishments of a children and youth solicitor whose work has demonstrated the highest degree of professional excellence. The recipient must have advanced the practice of child welfare law within their county or across the Commonwealth.
GUIDELINES: Letters of recommendation should highlight the candidate's unique contributions to and significant achievements in advancing the practice of child welfare law in their individual county or across the Commonwealth. Please include a chronology of the candidate's involvement in child welfare practice. If you wish, you may include supporting materials such as a resume, press clippings, photos and up to three letters of support. A photo will be required for the award recipient.
ELIGIBILITY: Any Pennsylvania children and youth solicitor who is a member of the Association and in good standing with the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
PROCEDURES: The nomination form and supporting materials will not be returned to you. All materials must be on 8½ x 11-inch paper. Use paper clips or binder clips. No staples or binding.
Nominations must include the following items:
- A completed application form. (download)
- A list of the nominee's affiliations with children and youth agencies, and if possible, a list of any awards the nominee has received for their work on behalf of children and families.
- A letter of support from the C&Y Administrator from the nominee's county
- A letter of recommendation, describing the nominee's activities on behalf of children and youth agencies which, in your opinion, have significantly advanced the practice of child welfare law in their individual county and across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania which qualify the nominee to receive this special recognition from the Pennsylvania Children and Youth Solicitors Association.
